Their story
From the field to the mentor's seat
I started playing lacrosse on a team in the second grade, but have been playing pick up in my backyard with my three siblings since they could walk. Since then, I have fallen in love with the game and could not be more grateful for the lessons it has taught me – especially in leadership and resilience. I had my sights set on playing DIII at a NESCAC school from a young age, aware of the way student athletes can balance rigorous academics with high level athletic competition. A tremendous amount of support from club coaches and my parents allowed me to pursue a career in college lacrosse while having not played a full season of high school lacrosse prior to senior year – in part due to academic opportunities.
Why they mentor
“I would not be part of the amazing team that I am now without the support of role models and mentors in my life. I was lucky to have parents well equipped to have the "hard conversations" that facilitated the recruiting process of my lacrosse journey, but know that is a rarity for most athletes. I would like to be a mentor to pay it forward in every way possible to aspiring student athletes to help them navigate their ambitions and accomplish their goals on and off the field.”
