Their story
From the field to the mentor's seat
I started playing lacrosse in 7th grade, as an outlet from my rigorous soccer schedule, but quickly fell in love with the sport. During my sophomore year of high school, I traded my club soccer position for an opportunity to play for the Mass Elite Lacrosse Club, which was an important decision for me to advance my skills and hope to get recruited within a small window. My coaches and teammates at Phillips Exeter and Mass Elite played a significant role in my successes throughout my process.
Why they mentor
“I began club lacrosse my sophomore year of high school and, with no family background in the sport, I leaned heavily on the guidance of older teammates and coaches. Starting my skill development later than others made the recruiting process discouraging at times, but my mentors helped me focus on my strengths and trust my abilities. I’m incredibly grateful for their support and mentorship. I am entering my third season with Bowdoin Women’s Lacrosse and am excited to step into a new leadership role that prioritizes on and off-field growth and wellness. I’m eager to join ABT as a mentor - wanting to pay it forward. We all have areas that push us to grow and strengths to build on and, above all, players need to remember they are so much more than their athletic achievements.”
